Private Soccer Training in Prince George’s County, MD

Private Soccer Training in Prince Georges County, MD

Prince George’s County is one of the most soccer-rich communities in the entire DMV. From Bowie and Laurel to College Park, Lanham, Clinton, and Upper Marlboro, PG County is packed with talented young players competing at every level, recreational, club, and high school varsity. That level of competition is exciting, but it also means your athlete needs to stand out to earn and keep their spot.

At Touch Lab Soccer Training, we work with players throughout Prince George’s County who are serious about improving. Our lead coach, Paul Jackiewicz, is a USSF-licensed coach with over a decade of experience developing youth players in this region. Whether your child is trying to crack a competitive club roster, earn more playing time, or simply build confidence on the ball, private soccer training is the fastest path to real, measurable improvement.

Why PG County Players Need Individual Training

Team practices in Prince George’s County are competitive by nature, and coaches managing large rosters can’t give every player the one-on-one attention needed to fix technical weaknesses. Players who only train with their teams often plateau, repeating the same habits without anyone correcting them.

Private soccer training fixes that. In a one-on-one session with Coach Paul, your child isn’t sharing reps with 15 other players. They’re getting focused, intentional coaching from start to finish, with drills tailored to their weaknesses, feedback delivered in the moment, and a training plan built around their development timeline.

This is especially critical for PG County players preparing for:

  • Club soccer tryouts in the spring and fall
  • High school soccer tryouts at programs across the county
  • Moving up a level, from recreational to travel, or from JV to varsity

One-on-One Soccer Training in Prince George’s County, MD

Private sessions are fully customized around each player. Coach Paul identifies what to prioritize, whether that’s first touch, comfort on both feet, decision-making speed, or 1v1 confidence, before the first drill starts.

Sessions are available throughout Prince George’s County, including Bowie, Laurel, Clinton, Lanham, and Upper Marlboro. For a full breakdown of how sessions are structured, visit our One-on-One Training page.

Player Evaluation Session — $65 (one-time per player)

Not sure where your player stands or what to focus on? A Player Evaluation Session is the best way to start. I’ll assess first touch, ball control, decision-making, and comfort on both feet, then walk you through exactly what I see and recommend a clear path forward, whether that’s a training pack, group sessions, or focused work at home.

One evaluation session per player. After your evaluation, one-on-one sessions are priced below.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is one-on-one training more effective than group training, or is it just more expensive?

They’re effective for different things, not one simply better than the other. One-on-one sessions produce faster technical correction because every minute is focused on one player’s specific weaknesses. Group sessions are better at building game speed decision-making and composure under real competitive pressure, since there’s another player actually contesting the ball. Most players benefit most from a mix of both rather than treating one as the upgraded version of the other.

Should a younger or newer player start with one-on-one training, or can they jump straight into a group?

Younger or newer players generally get more out of starting with one-on-one sessions. Without a technical foundation yet, a group setting can move too fast, and a player who’s still learning basic ball control won’t get much out of competing against more experienced teammates. Once the fundamentals are in place, group training becomes a much better fit.

Is group training actually cheaper than one-on-one over time, or does it just look that way per session?

Group training is genuinely more cost effective per player, even accounting for the fact that a full hour is split. A 4 player group session costs $45 per player compared to $80 for a private hour, so families training regularly in a group of 3 or more generally spend meaningfully less over a season than booking the same number of one-on-one sessions.

Can my child switch from one-on-one to group training partway through a package, or do we have to finish what we started?

Packages are tied to the format they were booked under, so a one-on-one package can’t be converted into group sessions partway through. That said, nothing stops you from finishing a one-on-one package and then booking group sessions afterward, or running both at the same time if that fits your schedule and budget.

Does starting with group training instead of one-on-one slow down my child’s technical improvement?

It can, depending on where your child is starting from. A player with almost no individual technical work behind them will usually progress faster with focused one-on-one correction first, since a group format can’t isolate and fix one player’s specific habits the way a private session can. A player who already has solid fundamentals won’t lose much by starting in a group, since the format is built to sharpen decision-making and execution under pressure rather than teach basics from scratch.

Is it common for players to start with one-on-one training and move into group sessions later?

Yes, this is one of the most common paths Touch Lab families in PG County follow. One-on-one sessions build the individual technical foundation, and group sessions give players a place to test and sharpen that foundation against real competition once it’s there. Some families run both at once rather than moving fully from one to the other.
