About Coach Paul

paul jackiewicz

At Touch Lab Soccer Training, our mission is simple: help players improve with purpose, confidence, and consistency. Leading that mission is Coach Paul, a USSF-licensed soccer trainer with 14 years of coaching experience.

Meet Coach Paul

Coach Paul has been coaching soccer since 2012, working with players of every age and skill level, from beginners learning the fundamentals to advanced athletes preparing for high-level competition.

Fourteen years on the field has taught him something a resume can’t: how to reach a kid three different ways until a concept clicks, how to read a session and adjust it in real time, and how to build a player’s confidence alongside their skill. That’s the difference between someone who’s good at soccer and someone who’s good at teaching it, and it’s the foundation every Touch Lab session is built on.

His coaching style is built on attention to detail, high repetition, and real game application, ensuring every session translates directly to improved performance on the field.

USSF-Licensed Coaching with Academy Experience

Coach Paul has developed his expertise through years of hands on experience in competitive training environments, backed by a USSF coaching license.

Head Coach – Grassroots Roots: Frederick County Parks and Recreation

Coach Paul’s coaching journey began in 2012 with Frederick County Parks and Recreation, where he spent 13 years coaching youth rec league soccer. Over that time, he worked with players ranging from 5 to 18 years old, building the foundation that would eventually shape Touch Lab Soccer Training.

Coaching at the rec level meant learning to meet every player where they were, from five-year-olds touching a ball for the first time to teenagers preparing for high school tryouts. That range taught him how to adapt his coaching on the fly, communicate across age groups, and build a genuine love of the game before ever focusing on advanced technique.

This grassroots experience became the base that his later work at the Manchester City Soccer Academy at Sofive and the Skills Institute Soccer Program built on, and it’s part of what makes his approach at Touch Lab so well rounded today.

Lead Coach – Manchester City Soccer Academy at Sofive

He served as Lead Coach at the Manchester City Soccer Academy at Sofive in Columbia, MD from 2021 until early 2026.

In this role, he worked with youth players in a professional training structure inspired by one of the top clubs in the world, focusing on technical development, ball mastery, game awareness, and confidence building. Paul himself was trained and developed by Manchester City coaches, learning their methodology firsthand for coaching youth players, an approach he now brings directly to every session with his own athletes.

Lead Coach – Skills Institute Soccer Program

Coach Paul currently serves as Lead Coach for the Skills Institute soccer training program at Sofive in Columbia, MD, where he leads structured technical training sessions, develops foundational skills for youth players, and creates engaging, high repetition training environments that help players build confidence and consistency on the ball.

This experience has directly shaped the training philosophy behind Touch Lab Soccer Training.

Coaching Philosophy

Coach Paul believes player development comes down to three key areas:

  • Ball Control – Mastering the fundamentals through repetition
  • Confidence – Building belief through preparation and success
  • Game IQ – Understanding when and how to make the right decisions

Every session is designed to challenge players while giving them the tools they need to succeed in real match situations.
