Winter Training
Do you train during the winter?
Yes. Touch Lab Soccer Training runs outdoor sessions all winter for one-on-one, and small group training. While many players take the off-season off, winter is one of the best times to build skills and get ahead before spring tryouts.
Is it safe to train outside in the cold?
Yes, with the right gear and a smart plan. Sessions stay active from start to finish, warmups are longer in cold weather, and players get short breaks to stay comfortable. Player safety always comes first.
When do you cancel or reschedule for weather?
We reschedule when conditions make the field unsafe, including ice, snow covering the field, lightning, or wind chill below 30°F. If we need to reschedule, you’ll hear from us as early as possible and there’s never a charge.
What should my player wear?
Dress in layers: a base layer, long sleeves, a warm top, and athletic pants or leggings. Gloves and a hat help a lot. Turf shoes are often better than cleats on frozen ground. Bring water and a warm drink for after the session.
With earlier sunsets, when are sessions available?
Weekday sessions are scheduled earlier in the afternoon, and weekend times are widely available.
Do you offer indoor training?
Yes, indoor one-on-one sessions are available at a $150 flat rate, which includes facility rental. They’re a great option during stretches of bad weather. We train indoors at Sofive in Columbia, MD. (If you know of a great indoor training facility in the PG County area, please let us know.) Price will vary if another facility is used.
Why train in the winter?
Consistent off season training keeps touch, fitness, and confidence sharp. Players who keep working through the winter show up to spring tryouts and the new season ahead of players who took months off.

I accept Zelle, PayPal, Cash App, Venmo or cash prior to the first session.
What does my child need for each session?
The only thing your child will need is their soccer boots and water. shin guards aren’t needed.
What is your soccer coaching philosophy?
I believe in players developing by getting a lot of touches on the ball in order to improve their dribbling, passing and shooting.
Where do you train?
We can train at a local park, school or an indoor facility. Keep in mind that an indoor facility will raise the price due to rental cost.
What ages do you train?
I train kids ages 5 and up.
How often should my child train?
That is completely up to you. Realistically the more a player trains the quicker they will improve.
